The recent scenes from the breach at Toddbrook Reservoir in Derbyshire were shocking and brought home just how close to devastating a disaster it could have been.

The residents from nearby Whaley Bridge were all safely evacuated and a sterling effort to solve the problem was eventually successful. The repair work took the best part of a week to make the dam safe again and involved people from several services, including firefighters and the army.

We were pleased to be able to play our part in the repair process, supplying and operating pumps to help keep the pressure down.

This link from the BBC News website shows drone footage from the repair site. Our workers can be identified by their orange jackets.
