The IMMAF European Championships for Lignano Sabbiadoro (near Venice) in Italy, took place last month between 26 September and 1 October 2022, with the fighters taking to action on 27 September. The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation held the event, which included two tournaments, one for Seniors and one for Juniors, each featuring 16 weight divisions, spanning from Atomweight to Lightweight for women and Strawweight to Super Heavyweight for men.
Ioan is the son of Mike who works for us at our Port Talbot depot, with Ioan competing in the championships. Over the 5 days of which Ioan competed, he fought 5 times against strong opposition, coming away with 3 submission wins and 2 decisive decision wins! Which meant Ioan won all 5 of his fights and was crowned European Champion in the Welterweight division!
