During construction of the Rugby Western relief road a temporary pipework solution was required to divert a critical 600m diameter foul rising sewer running underneath Parkfield Road, allowing construction of an interconnecting tunnel built between two disused quarries.

Llangollen Canal is a popular boating branch of the Shropshire Union Canal which is fed from the river Dee. In two places, Chirk and Whitehouse, the canal travels underground through a long tunnel before approaching the network’s greatest feat of engineering, the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.

Pump Supplies recently supplied and installed 8 x 180kW Flygt sewage pumps along with pipework totalling 1,900 metres to allow one of the largest overpumping schemes in the UK.

Pump Supplies has worked closely with customer Hanson to design and install a pumped system with monitoring and control support at its Craig-Yr-Hesg Quarry in Wales, speeding up the discharge process and improve the clarity of the site’s discharged water.
